Meredith Ward Fine Art specializes in American art from the 19th century to the present. With more than twenty years of experience, Meredith Ward opened the gallery in 2004 in a landmark townhouse in Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
With a particular strength in American modernism, Meredith Ward Fine Art is especially known for handling works by Oscar Bluemner, Charles Burchfield, Charles Demuth, Arthur Dove, Marsden Hartley, John Marin, and Georgia O'Keeffe. We also have selective holdings by American abstract artists of the 1930s and 1940s, including Charles Biederman, Werner Drewes, Frederick Kann, George L.K. Morris, and Charles Shaw. The gallery also represents the estate of Larry Day, and carries forward to the present with works by Joel Graesser and William Scharf. Within the nineteenth century, we have handled works by Fitz Henry Lane, William Merritt Chase, Joseph Decker, and John Singer Sargent.
The gallery has long-standing relationships with museums around the country and has placed works of art by Charles Biederman, Larry Day, John Marin, William Scharf and others in major museum collections.
